Shuchi was a fantastic host. Clearly very knowledgeable about her craft. I enjoyed her take on Indian Tapas. It was a really cool concept and everything turned out delicious--just the right amount of spice. Her apt has views of the city that are hard to match. We had a small group for our experience. I'd encourage a larger group in general for EatWith. It helps ensure a lively conversation and a more unique dynamic.

We had a wonderful evening of social interaction and food tastings. Shuchi was very accommodating with regards to several of our group's dietary restrictions. Out group of 12 meet regularly and this was one of the most enjoyable evenings we have had.

Wonderful - and it was a complete experience! Shuchi provided plenty of info and was very responsive re: location, prep/food, etc. The location and setting was simply stunning - I don't think I've ever had such an incredible view while eating. I loved how she integrated the ideas of healthy and "just the right amount" with the flavors I was hoping to enjoy. Importantly, everything was at least as advertised, if not significantly more. Can't wait until the next time!

I wanted my art department team to experience EatWith and we selected Shuchi's Indian Tapas dinner. The location is spectacular, with dramatic views of NYC. The food exquisite and beautifully presented. Shuchi is such a graceful host, we can't thank her enough for the amazing culinary experience.

Shuchi presented an exceptional tapas selection to our table. Her new take on serving Indian food is refreshing and just as tasty as it looks! We had a great time at her apartment. The night was filled with delightful conversation, scrumptious bites and full bellies. I will definitely come back! I highly recommend dining with Shuchi--no matter where in the world you're from! A MUST SEE NYC SIGHT!

As someone who has grown up eating home cooked indian food, I was curious what Indian style tapas would be like. And I'm happy to report, that it is pretty awesome! I know most people associate Indian cooking with being heavy, rich, overly spicy and rarely presented with care. A meal with Shuchi, on the other hand, shows you how Indian food can be light, healthy and beautiful to look at. The evening began with a view of the spectacular sunset over the Jersey horizon and accompanying it were some small bites that Shuchi had prepared as a welcome treat. The cauliflower frittata and eggplant toasties disappeared off the table within minutes. As Manhattan's lights came on, our first course of a lentil & mushroom soup was served. It was a good start for those walking in from a cold New York evening. The next two courses were very finger-food friendly adaptations of some Indian comfort food. First were bite-sized baked chickpea patties that were nicely spiced and topped with a sriracha mayonnaise. These were followed by minced chicken (keema) on little fried dough fritters. Pretty much everyone went for seconds (and even thirds) on these! A well-spiced green biryani tempered with yoghurt was the final course before dessert. Topped with a crisp papadom on top, the biryani had great flavors of fresh mint, coriander and chillies. The dessert of cardamom custard over a chocolate ganache really hit the spot, capping off a wonderful meal. Shuchi's nouveau interpretation of traditional staples was refreshing and delectable. She's the kind of cook that really believes that we taste not only with our tongue but also our eyes : so each course was presented beautifully. To sum up, an Eatwith experience with Shuchi features an engaging host, a breathtaking view and a unique flavorful menu. Gayatri

This was our first EatWith experience and it was fantastic! I was not sure what to expect but Shuchi was a welcoming host and made the whole experience easy and fun! What an amazing experience and presentation. This was my first EatWith tasting, and Shuchi is a beautiful host. Her Indian Tapas were creatively presented. Her location has a beautiful skyline of New York, which adds to the ambiance of the evening. And, the experience is a great way to meet new people and learn about other cooks. Thank you, Shuchi for a beautiful evening!

Last night was the first time I had dinner with Shuchi, and she brought Indian food to another level! The presentation was beautiful and everything was so flavorful and delicious, I couldn't stop myself from going for seconds and thirds. Her apartment might have the most gorgeous view in all of Manhattan, and I can't wait to go back!

Shuchi was a delightful host! Her food was delicious, balanced, and beautiful, and she went out of her way (even making gluten free bread from scratch!) to accommodate three members of the group with eating restrictions. Both she and her apartment were open and inviting, and I have been recommending the experience non-stop since enjoying it a couple of days ago!

Great overall experience with Shuchi and her delectable tapas. Being that it was my first experience through EatWith, I was not disappointed. Upon arrival with two friends we were greeted and immediately felt cozy in her beautiful apt and our group conversation lasted all night. Shuchi served her plates and provided her thoughts behind her inspiration making each bite that much more enticing and savory. And each bite did not disappoint at all. Her soft touches with indian spices were evident in her puree dish and indian sloppy joes, providing a delicate reminder without taking away from the fresh vegetables. Each dish evolved throughout the night and provided the worthwhile experience. Recommend those looking for a hidden gem of great food in NYC to sign up with Shuchi. You will not be disappointed.

Who knew that small portions could lead to big results? Shuchi presented us with take on Indian food, tapas style. While respecting the roots of the food she came up with an exquisite combination of flavours and a presentation of the dishes worthy of a fine dining restaurant. With all these superlatives one would almost forget to mention that she is a great host as well. A brief shout out to my fellow eaters who were very gracious too. If you're in New York and have a chance to partake in any of Shuchi's events, take it. Both experienced and novice eaters of Indian food will find it worth their while.

It was a pleasure to meet Shuchi and try her take on Indian cuisine via small tapas dishes representing different areas in India. If you are visiting NY, don't miss out on this one, as in addition to the food and the welcoming atmosphere there is also a great view of the city from the apartment.

Shuchi and Marlin were excellent hosts. Shuchi's fresh take on serving Indian tapas style is an excellent idea. Like many people, I can not enjoy Indian food more than once every few months because it usually leaves you feeling not so great. Having traveled to India last year and getting to experience home cooked Indian food, I was blown away with how real Indian food tasted so I was excited to go to this event. I highly recommend Shuchi cooking and her Indian tapas experience on EatWith.

What a wonderful surprise ! First, I had never think of tapas being possibly associated with indian food. Then, Shushi is not cooking just "regular" indian food. It is closer to gastronomy: fine, tasty, and so thoughfully presented ! The marriage of teas and tapas is excellent and unusual. I really appreciated discovering new flavors, and most of all being amazed. Does not happen that often !

Eat(ing)With Shuchi was an unforgettable experience! We had a fabulous group (there were a total of 7 of us) and the tapas were delicious. Shuchi takes much time and pride in providing an aesthetically pleasing and satisfying eating experience (just remember, these are tapas and not a full course meal). Indian-inspired tapas are a creative, unique and fun way to entertain and the EatWith Shuchi experience excelled in this area. The atmosphere was like a low-key/informal cocktail-like party with hosts (her very nice husband was also there) that make you feel extremely comfortable from the moment they open the door. Besides the food, Shuchi was a charming host who perfected the art of being able to both serve and share quality time with her guests. I always felt she was fully engaged in the evening even during those few moments she had to dip into the kitchen to bring out the next treat. What finally puts this experience at an all-around 5-star rating is the incredible view from her apartment. Between the food and the view it was really hard to choose which one to focus on--I just ate in front of the window!! I love the EatWith concept and I am so very happy that as my first EatWith experience, I was blessed to EatWith Shuchi. Not only will I try EatWith in other locations, it is very likely I will EatWith Shuchi again. I highly recommend you experience it for yourself--you won't be disappointed.
