Advice from an Eatwith City Ambassador

Do you have any advice for someone who is interested in this role? What would you have found useful to know before you signed up to be a City Ambassador?

The role of City Ambassador is exciting and pleasing yet quite challenging! If I could turn back time, I would love someone to advise me (maybe they did but I was so impatient to start that I ignored the challenges!) that convincing people to participate in the Eatwith community is not a piece of cake.

I have approached several people from Athens who are excited about Eatwith and really interested in learning more about it. However, pretty often, life happens and obstacles pop up, such as lack of time or space, hesitations or reservations…

Why do you love to be your city’s ambassador and what are the advantages?

Despite the challenges of this role, I really enjoy what I am doing because I communicate with several different people who have the same passion about food sharing and they are in general open to new people and authentic experiences!

Moreover, I feel like I am contributing to the establishment of the sharing economy in my city, which I consider as a great step for our social and financial progress. Last but not least, I am really happy that I am co-creating a unique community of people, cooks, and hosts, who are willing to set the table and share stories about themselves and their city! I think it’s a magical and powerful way of bringing people together and allowing them to share their cultures.
