Amazing evening with Yiannis and his son. Very informative and very genuine. Can't praise them enough.
We booked a walking food tour with Yiannis for 4 people. Luckily we were the only 4 on the tour, so it was more of a private tour. For the first half hour or so, I think he was feeling us out and mentally adjusting the agenda based on our age/demographics, which was very much appreciated.
All in all, he was very knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. I thought this tour would be purely about the food, but it also included a lot of history. I think this really gave us a well rounded experience and helped us to understand the origin of each dish.
By the end we felt we got a little bit of everything, including just the right amount of delicious Cretan cuisine to send us home satiated, but not stuffed.
If I had one very minor criticism, it would be for him to just go ahead and explain the origin of everything we’re eating, instead of waiting for us to ask the questions.
Nevertheless, he had all the answers and we had an amazing time!
