Learn how to make mochi desserts as well as the art of making Wagashi, the traditional Japanese sweets served during the tea ceremony from a Certified Nerikiri Art Instructor. This 2.5 hour course will teach you how to make two kinds of mochi dessert and 2 pieces of nerikiri wagashi. You will first learn how to make the strawberry daifuku, which is a kind of mochi with a strawberry wrapped in bean paste in the middle. Then you will be making a three colored dango (mochi balls on skewers) The latter half of the class will teach you how to make the dough made from sweet bean paste and rice flour for the Wagashi and then go on to coloring and shaping the dough to make a seasonal motif. At the end of the course you will be able to taste the Wagashi with a bowl of Matcha, green tea.
