Meet Carol
For as long as I can remember, family time involved the kitchen. There was never someone alone in the kitchen at my home. It was our time to catch up, hang out, and unwind from the long days. As a first generation American, I grew up with burgers, hot dogs, and fried chicken alongside duck, pork belly, and tofu. My childhood was based in Virginia, so growing up, we traveled all along the southern region of the U.S., and that is where it was confirmed to me that "food = love". Food was meant to be comforting, like a warm blanket on a chilly evening. My food, whether it be traditional Chinese dishes or the southern comfort I grew up learning and loving, is always made the diners feel good.

Good and company was great - a bit more quantity wise wouldn't have hurt but great flavor. It was a wonderful event

Carol is a woman who has this adorable sweetness about her but a strong comfortability and presence in the kitchen. Her dishes are each chosen for a particular reason; no detail without a purpose. Seems like she puts a lot of thought into presentation and flavor notes - which i really appreciated - but you should probably just go and make an observation on that yourself :)

This food is unbelievably great. Carol Lee skillfully weaves a sophisticated blend of intriguing-yet-familiar tastes that combine into a joyfully cozy experience. Each bite of her meticulously crafted dishes is one of those close-your-eyes-and-contemplate-everything-good-in-the-universe kind of moments, and just when you think it can't get any better, it does. So, stop reading reviews and click that "Book Now" button right now, because it's only a matter of time before this becomes not only one of the most popular spots on Eatwith, but Brooklyn in general. I'm serious, it's that good.

Everything on the menu was exquisite and the experience was phenomenal. The fresh scallion pancakes were delicious and a great way to start since it's a traditional Asian dish that works well as an appetizer and reminded me of home. The pork three ways dish was a delight. I went for the pork belly right away because who can resist the rich flavor of braised pork belly on rice? I loved the chive dumpling - the texture and soft chewiness of the handmade dumpling was amazing, and the spicy minced pork over silken tofu was a perfect balance. The peking duck was delicious. I especially enjoyed the delicately fried skin of the peking duck. Frozen Matcha Mouse was the perfect way to end the meal - light and refreshing. Lighting and space also provided a cozy warm vibe.

The meal was absolutely delicious and is clearly a menu that is close to Carol's heart! Having multiple small servings allowed you to eat everything, but also leave feeling satisfied. Adorable restaurant vibe with hanging lights and brick wall details.
