The thought of becoming a chef never occurred my mind. It was my strong childhood memories which led me, without even realising, to the world of cooking. whilst growing up I used to go with my mom to the market, and carefully chose our vegetables, fish, and meat. I remember watching my mother stuff every possible vegetable with meat or rice. Cooking chicken soup on the stove, and constantly chopping fresh herbs. When I was twelve, my family and I moved to London. Watching UK food network lead us to the most exciting food markets. Very quickly I found my self, after school, cooking with my mom. Cleaning mussels, braising ducks, and cooking risotto with wild mushrooms. That's when I realised I should turn my hobby in to a profession. I started by volunteering at a small french brasserie in Camden town and ended up working along side some of the best chefs and known restaurants in London: "The Wolseley", "Quaglinos", "Gordon Ramsay", "Tom Aikens". I worked in London for ten years as a chef. Six years ago I returned to Israel, where I worked as a chef at "Olivery", "Rokach" and "Yochanan". At Yochanan's I met Orr, who was the general manager. Previous to that Orr used to work at chef restaurants such as "Chloelys" and "Jaffo-Tel Aviv". Her connection with the customers astonished me, her love and appreciation of food and most important of all her love for people. Besides being a great manager, host, people lover etc, Orr is an amazing pastry chef. She studied pastry at "Tadmor". Our connection was immediate. It didn't take us long to realise we wanted to create something of our own together. We love entertaining and sharing our passion and appreciation of food, preferably in an intimate environment where we can also enjoy the company of our guests. "Eatwith" unlike restaurants is the perfect opportunity for us to do what we do best, cook ,host, meet new people and cultures, and share our love for food.
