I have been eager to participate in EatWith for about two and a half years now, since I heard about it on a Freakonomics podcast (http://freakonomics.com/podcast/regulate-this-a-new-freakonomics-radio-podcast/). When I finally got a chance to travel down to the San Francisco area, I looked at my options with eatwith.com. I saw that Eric was having an event and I noticed he had 5 Stars! Done! I did not know what to expect… I brought three of my friends and, what to expect was the topic of discussion for the three days leading up to the event. Eric exceeds in hospitality. He was personable and was eager to answer any questions we had about what he was doing. This was a pleasurable and informative experience concerning food. My first expectation, about an event like this, was that I would eat great food… this idea was fulfilled but this is not a restaurant. Eric invited us to his home. Not only did he let us ask him how he gets his food to perfection but he also engaged us in conversation about all sorts of ideas. This was a perfect night and could not have gone any better. Eric and Tylnn were generous and charismatic hosts. The food was impeccable. The conversation was better. Their hospitality was priceless. We have already booked another visit. The $50 per person we spent was a bargain. (hint: if you are a X-Men or comic book fan… make sure you bring this up. Both Eric and Tylnn will have plenty to say about the matter)

The bison tacos were delicious, as was the carrot cake. The guests were great fun, we had an absolute ball. Eric as host was very welcoming. Two things could have improved the experience. The main meal needed some more greenery, such as a salad or salsa. It also would have been nicer if the Eric could have spent more time at the table, more like a host rather than a server. Towards the end of the meal he did sit more with us and was excellent company. Overall, I definitely recommend the Eatwith experience and more particularly with Eric as host.

The food was amazing from start to finish. Love the taste sensations on the appetizer. The bison tacos were bliss! Tylnn the carrot cake was perfect!
