About your host, Martine: "My husband Olav and I love cooking and entertaining, and we believe that there are no strangers, just friends we haven't met yet. We decided to sell our well-known French restaurant in Amsterdam and repurposed our passion for hospitality and gastronomy by organizing dining experiences in our own home."
Delicious Dutch Tasty, healthy and local! Buzz words of today’s cuisine. Good to know that has been always common practice in our country. Easy to understand why: quality and taste of our local produce is outstanding. Our mothers learned how to cook great meals. And they taught us how to do it.
First we will enjoy a get together drink (a so called ‘Borrel’, a small glass of dutch gin) and some truly Dutch appetizers, followed by a fresh and home made bouillon, soup or salad with seasonal products. After that we serve the main course: local meat or North Sea fish. We specialize in various versions of seasonal Stamppot. As finale we will bring a typical Dutch dessert to the table. Coffee or tea will be served at the end of the meal. Wine to starter and main course are included.
So come on in and let the good times roll at Martine's table. Enjoy your meal, share stories, listen to music, or even play some yourself! Admire the canal view and watch the boats pass by in one of the oldest parts of the historical city center, on the edge of the famous Red Light District.
Remember: there are no strangers, just friends we haven’t yet met. No better way than to meet them at our table!
IMPORTANT: We serve one menu per day. So maybe on the date of your choice our Delicious Dutch Dinner is not available. Please check Joie de Vivre Bistro Dinner, that might be available. We are looking forward to meeting you anyway!
