6 years ago, I upended my life and decided to move to Tokyo so I could experience real sushi in it's purest form. I always loved it, but I knew there were limits to what we had available in the US. After reading Anthony Bourdain's 'A Cook's Tour,' I knew I had to do something crazy if I really wanted to expand my horizons - it was a now or never moment. I worked in tech to pay the bills, but in retrospect I realize now that it was always a front for my real intentions. In between binging on some of the most amazing food I've ever eaten, I discovered real ramen and fell in love all over again. Although sushi was my true love, it wasn't sustainable and ramen like a warm fuzzy pork belly blanket was always there to support and comfort me during those frigid lulls between paychecks until I could get my next sushi fix. Countless food-epiphanies later, I'm back in SF with a burning passion for delicious food, but still feeling like I've only begun to scratch the surface of what I experienced in Japan.

Perfection to the finest detail. It was also a joy chatting with Clint and Yoko.

美味しい (oishii)!! I came in with a very high expectation and Clint's ramen totally met mine. The appetizers, the pickles were delicious. They were just right and weren't over seasoned. The ramen itself was to-die-for. The broth was rich, flavourful and tasty yet not fatty nor salty. The chicken ham was amazing - silky and tender. The dessert was a nice way to punctuate the evening. I'd love my noodles to be a bit more al dente, but it is my personal taste for noodles. Other guests seemed to be fine with the noodles. THANK YOU!!

Clint and Yoko were wonderful hosts! The ramen was superb and easily the best I've had in the bay. Their pup was a total sweetheart too!

The broth was amazing. It wasn't too thick, but not bland either. Clint explained that he uses chicken to make his broth (vs. pork) which creates a light but flavorful experience. My husband tried the dried ramen (which I proceeded to take a bite of) which was equally delicious. The pre-main course dishes were tasty as well. The takonomiyaki was superb (right balance of seafood and dough), the pickled radish and celery was (so good that we recommended that they sell them by the can), and the salad was wonderful (the dressing and crispy anchovies were a hit). Overall, I'd definitely go to Clint's dinner again. It's one of the best ramens in SF I've tried so far.
