Everything about our dinner with Ze was special. We loved all the Portuguese foods and wines he introduced us to; the stories about Portuguese history; and the warm familial atmosphere. The meal was beautifully curated using the best ingredients. Our dinner with Ze was on our first night in Lisboa —an unforgettable way to begin our vacation!!

Thiw as a foodtour and not any cooked meal from Ze. Ze showed us around in Lisbon centre, telling anecdotes regarding different things. Telling, showing and providing different snacks, drinks and even an Olive Oil testing which we really appreciated. Ze was very good in english, wanted to know our expectations and me, being a pescatarian, had as much joy in this experience as my husband who eats all kind of food. Thank you Ze, you made our day :-)

My friend Pat and I spent 5 nights in Lisbon after a glorious 7 nights in Provence. We loved Lisbon and the highlight was our dinner with Ze. We were joined by Zoe and Grant from Australia who added a lot of fun to the evening. I can't say enough about Ze! The food he prepared was wonderful. We enjoyed everything he served us. And we learned a lot about Portugal. It was so special to be in someone's home. We loved that he sat and ate with us and shared so many stories. We laughed and ate and drank great wines. I chose the specific night because it was my birthday. I thought that an EatWith experience would far surpass a restaurant. And I was right! At the end of the night, I experienced something that I will never forget. Ze had me open the bottle of Champagne using the Sabrage method! That's when you forcefully swipe up the neck of the bottle with a knife and if all goes well, the bottle sheers off just below the lip and the cork goes flying. I'd seen it done in the movies or maybe on TV before, but now I can say that I've done it! Although it did take several tries.... We met many wonderful people in Lisbon but Ze topped the list. My birthday at Ze's home will be remembered as one of the nicest I've ever experienced. Ze - thank you again!
