My passion for baking bread started as a need for a hobby when me and my housemate were too lazy to organise an internet connection in our flat in Brighton. With my evenings free of distractions, I started baking loaves instead. After limited initial success, I persevered (with a few disasters along the way), and before long was baking bread I was proud of. My obsession has led me on pilgrimages to Paris and Rome and to building an oven at my parents’ house in Cornwall, England with clay dug from the stream at the bottom of the garden. I came to Barcelona in 2011 and fell in love with the city and its food culture. My first baking workshops were at my girlfriend's flat, then at my friend Stella's beautiful farmhouse near Reus, where we have met some incredible people from all over the world, and shared some amazing memories. With our new place in the mountains overlooking the Mediterranean, I'm looking forward to meeting lots of new people and baking lots of delicious bread (and pizza)!

For me, the best experience that I have had with Eatwith!! Stella and Liam were so friendly that we felt like at home. The workshop were amazing, well-explained and funny, thanks to Liam jokes. The food, that Stella cooked personally, were great: Salad, baked potatoes, cheese and so on. For dinner we prepared great pizzas, cooked on the clay oven, and have some drinks next to a bonfire! The next day, we ate the bread that we cooked. Wow! Really tasty and crispy! If you are not sure to attend the event, don't think more! Attend it, you will have a great weekend!

had such a lovely experience on stella's farm! the laid-back vibe, the hospitality, and the food were all great! felt very welcome from the very beginning and enjoyed the company, conversation, and bread making very much. the day started with door to door service from the train to the farm. then we found a lovely spread of bread, olives, hummus, & meats along with beer or wine. then the bread making with liam began. he was knowledgeable, patient and so chill! as the day progressed the fun vibe continued. a delicious dinner, a huge bonfire, late night pizza, and copious amounts of alcohol! i really couldn't ask for more. thank you, stella, for welcoming us into your home and sharing such a great weekend with us :)

We had a lovely time on Stella's farm. She was a gracious host and made us feel welcome right away. The baking lessons with Liam were fantastic and we learned so much! We can't wait to try making bread at home. We enjoyed meeting new people. Everyone that was part of the bread baking weekend were very friendly. Singing songs around the campfire was a highlight of the weekend. Our accommodations were spacious and had a cozy feeling. We loved the setting of the farm and the rustic charm that surrounded us. This was a great experience and we would do it again in a heart beat. It is definitely worth it!

What a weekend! I don't think I've eaten so much food in a lifetime, and all of it bloody marvellous. A friend and I travelled down very last minute from Barcelona; the journey is very straightforward and really beautiful in itself, taking in all the coast along the way. Stella was waiting for us on arrival, and as soon as we got to the farm we were greeted with a lovely glass of red and taken on a guided tour of the farm, meeting all the animals along the way. They have a pig that was fit to burst from pregnancy so I imagine the place is now running amok with tiny piglets! The baking class was absolutely brilliant; Liam is a really great teacher and was very informed and informative. The friend I travelled with had loads of questions and Liam seemed to know the answer to them all. As the bread rises, we sat and drank more wine, hung out with the goats and watched the sun setting over the mountains, before it was time to 'shape before you bake', another brief lesson in different breads, and then time for dinner. Which. Was. Amazing. There are so many aspects to the weekend I'm struggling to fit it all in; Ben, the man of the farm, built a huge bonfire for us all and we sat around eating our produce and keeping warm, then a lovely night's sleep in absolute tranquility, greeted in the morning by yet more delicious food. Honestly, if you want a lovely and indulgent weekend away from the madness and ambulance sirens of Barcelona, you really cannot go wrong. It was such a great weekend and the both of us were so gutted when it came to time to leave. Thank you so much to everyone, we will absolutely be making another trip down to visit you all again very, very soon!
