Meet Vanessa & Renato
(en español más abajo) Hola! Welcome to our home. I’m Vanessa and along with my adventure mate, Renato, we started to cook for Eatwith community since the beginning. I'm from Spain and Renato is italian, we have been living in many cities in Italy, China and Germany. We’re currently situated in Barcelona, in a beautiful 1800 modernist appartment, just in downtown. OUR PROPOSAL We join our cooking forces (all learned from an Italian mamma and a restaurant family) and we created our tasty and seasonal menu based on Mediterranean cuisine. Most of our recipes are Italian sometimes combined with some Spanish specialities. OUR NEW MENU We are glad to share our table and our best recipes with you. Melanzane alla Parmigiana, home made pasta, tiramisu, parmesan salad, risotto, smoked cheese with fresh tomato, burrata or pasta ripiena can be some of the deliciuos dishes you can find for dinner. We create different menus depending on season and fresh products we find from our local market. ABOUT VANESSA Vanessa is a marketing specialist and works for one of the biggest european music festival. Her passion for cooking is in her DNA as her family had a restaurant, at the beginning in Barceloneta more than 40 years ago and then close to Tarragona, in a small coast town. Her mum is a chef and she grew up in a restaurant. She’s also an exercise enthusiast, snorkel addict, italian fan and aspiring wine and coffee aficionado. Born in Taranto (south of Italy), moved close to Venice at 9 years old and studied for 10 years in Florence. He is the recipe developer and learnt the art of cooking from his italian mamma and nonna (grandma). He’s also a Fiorentina supporter and one of the founders of the first Fiorentina Club in Spain, lover of the finer things in life (i.e. wine, craft coffee and San Pellegrino), and traveler extraordinaire. ACERCA DE VANESSA Vanessa es especialista en marketing y trabaja para uno de los mayores festivales de música europea. Su pasión por la cocina está en su ADN ya que su familia desde siempre ha tenido un restaurante, hace más de 40 años en la Barceloneta y luego cerca de Tarragona, en un pequeño pueblo de la costa. Su madre es cocinera y ella creció en un restaurante. A Vanessa le encanta hacer deporte, es adicta al snorkel, fan declarada de Italia y amante del café y el vino . That's my third time with Vanessa and very time I enjoy it more and more) The location of the apartment is perfectly central, so there is no problem to find it. The food deserves the whole story itself. Vanessa cooks real home-made catalan food which is simple and incredible tasty! This time we had plenty of different tapas : tortilla with the special seasonal sausage made from eggs and ground meet, meatballs (albondigas) with romesco sause, vegetables in the oven (escalibada) and many others. By the way, the vine was fantastic too :) However, the food was just only one part of Eatwith experience with Vanessa, the other one which I enjoy even more is a home atmosphere and people from all the parts of the word sharing one table. So, I would recommend it to everybody who wants to have unforgettable experience in Barcelona!

Vanessa was a fantastic host, a great chef and a wonderful conversationalist. We ate here on our last night in Barcelona. The food was better than the tapas we found in restaurants!If you're looking to eat well in Barcelona - stop by here.
