Selection of assorted appetizers

Pickled vegetables

In our grandmother´s house there were always big jars of pickles. So many colours and a unique flavour. It was wonderful to see and to eat. We want to share this with you.

Sometimes a cold soup in summer or a worm one in winter. Seasonal saldas using our characteristic herbs.

Dipping sauces or purées

What is a jewish table if we don´t have any dipping sauces or purées to have a festival in our plates? We will offer you different styles from our special hummus, beats with yogurt or bazerjan.

Our iconic dishes

Our iconic dishes are the ones that as soon as they touch the table fly away, the ones that in family dinners were object of fight between siblings. Things that you can eat like potato chips. Dishes like kubbe, turnovers, knishes, or lajmayin.

Pita bread

Main course

The big star of the night.

Channeling our grandmothers we come with amazing fusion of flavors. Just to mention some, we hav brisket with middle eastern spices, lamb chops with stuffed grape leaves, chicken with fruit or majadra.

It always changes and it always brings joy. One of our favorite is baklava in so many ways it can be served.

What to expect

Monica was a lovely host who made great traditional Jewish food and explained the origins and customs of each dish. We had a lovely time in a pleasant company (surely the wine helped!). I'd love to come back!
Fantastic, sublime, entertaining. Lovely hosts that will hopefully be there upon my return to the city.
This was my second time at Casa Toldot with Monica and Eva; I had wanted to bring my husband here ever since my first meal with them. This time was just as special. We had a welcome cocktail on the rooftop with beautiful views, and then made our way to the main dining area where good smells were wafting in from the kitchen. As this was a meal for Rosh Shashana (the Jewish New Year) there were symbolic elements to the meal, and the president of Mozaika (the Jewish Culture Org.) help to lead in a few prayers to bless the food. It was not religious, but a cultural meal--as many of the guests were not Jewish--the experience was open to all. The first round of food was delicious and more than enough! I am vegan, so Monica made sure I had delicious options as well. I was stuffed after the first course, and then they brought out the second course! Everyone raved about the meal and I really enjoy in the conversations we all shared--both hosts and guests. Looking forward to another meal here again soon!
The night was absolutely perfect! The location was incredible in the Barcelona Gòtic center in a private residence from the Middle Ages. The food was outstanding, freshly homemade challah, delicious gefilte and many more wonderful delicacies that more than satisfied our curious gourmet palate. The company was really interesting and the hosts were not only really warm and fun but they also brought in a wealth of knowledge and personal experiences and memories that made us feel like we were dining amongst savvy family members at all times. Overall an absolute gem, terrific experience that I would absolutely without a doubt very highly recommend!!
