Take a tour around one of the tastiest cheese factories in Italy. Parmigiano Reggiano is known all around the world for its signature flavour and is a highly prized ingredient in many Italian dishes. Your trip will include a behind the scenes look at the cheese producing process, from feeding the cows to tasting the final product!

Visits:

1) COWSHED: Here we will see where cows are bred and milked, and have the opportunity to cuddle the newborn calves
2) CHEESE FACTORY: We will visit the cheese factory and watch the whole Parmigiano Reggiano making process: from the milk process, the curd cooking and the cheese shape making, up to the salting and seasoning process. Then we will visit the huge “caveau” where thousands of cheese shapes are laid in long rows in the silent seasoning room, enjoying the intense scent of this unique cheese!

Claudio comes from a family of Parmigiano producers –  making him the best possible host and guide to have throughout the tour around the factory! Learn the history of producing one of Italy's most famous cheeses, as you enjoy delicious slices of various types of Parmigiano and more after your tour!

Note: the tour includes 3 different stops so it recommended to drive to the venue with your own car.

I’m deeply in touch with my roots. My grandfather was a Parmigiano Reggiano producer and as a child I had the chance to learn from him all the secrets of this wonderful kind of cheese, unique in the world! We’ll visit together the places of my childhood, where my uncle still produces this kind of cheese, with the same care and passion that characterize both of us! It’s really exciting to share my knowledge, culture and traditions with people from all over the world!

Sono profondamente legato alle mie radici. Mio nonno era un produttore di Parmigiano Reggiano e da bambino ho potuto imparare da lui tutti i segreti di questo meraviglioso formaggio unico al mondo. Vedremo insieme i luoghi che fin da bambino ho frequentato in cui ancora oggi mio zio produce questo formaggio, con la stessa cura e passione che ci accomuna. Mi entusiasma molto poter condividere le mie conoscenze con persone di altri paesi a cui cerco di trasmettere la cultura e le tradizioni della mia terra.
