Hello guys, I am Ata. Originally, I am a civil engineer. After I finished my bachelors, I went to Sweden for my masters degree in the field of Construction Management. I stayed in Gothenburg for 2 years. During my journey in Sweden, I had a chance to explore and learn about new cuisines which triggered my cooking passion. Actually, whenever I went to foreign countries, I tried to taste different local food and wanted to learn about every single process of them. When I finished my masters degree, I started to work in my field in Istanbul. At the same time, I was chasing new opportunities in order to improve my skills in cooking. To develop these skills, I quitted my profession and went after my passion. I went to Culinary Arts Academy in Istanbul for 8 months. After that, I went to Lisbon for an internship. The restaurant that I worked, held 1 Michelin Star (Restaurante Eleven). I stayed in Lisbon for 4 months. Lisbon was fantastic. For me, Lisbon is the city that I want to live after Istanbul. It is full of different cuisines especially seafood. After my Lisbon journey, I came back to Istanbul. For a short period, I worked in Japanese restaurant. It had a good impact on my knowledge about Asian cuisine. Afterwards, I went to London for 1 month. In London, I worked at 'The Ledbury' which held 2 Michelin Star. These all experiences helped me a lot to develop my knowledge and skills in the culinary world. This world consist of eternal products, dishes, techniques and stories. Now, I am trying to combine all these experiences. The best way to do that is to share all these with people. Besides all these, I am playing tennis and doing crossfit. Also, I am very interested to learn about new cultures and hear different stories.

What to expect
There’s no better way to spend your first night in Istanbul! A gourmet dinner accompanied by relaxed aristocratic atmosphere in the spirit of the old Istanbul. Ata and his cousin were great hosts fulfilling our desire for authentic Turkish cuisine done with an eye for the details and professionalism, and the stories behind these high end dishes. We reserved valuable tips for a good spent time and for some places with quality food and spices. A night where we were welcomed as guests and sent home being friends. Don’t miss out this experience!
Dinner at Ata's was like having a gourmet experience at home. The food was excellent both as a presentation and taste. Every dish had a story behind and all of them were covering different part of Turkey. Ata is a great host, we had a really great time together!
Ata is a wonderful creative gourmet cook and the food was both incredibly delicious and beautifully presented. He’s a charming host as well as his cousin who assisted him. It’s always good to connect with the locals when traveling and this is a great way to do it. My only issue was needing a bit clearer instructions in getting to his apt. But people on the street were helpful.
