A word about the experience
What follows is a basic tour. Of course, the route can be tailored according to the group members’ wishes and interests. Guests will kindly note that they must provide their own method of transportation for the duration of the tour while the guide will meet them at each stop.
The tour package includes:
-A guide with extensive knowledge bridging the agricultural and culinary worlds—Together we will visit between 3-4 agricultural farms and collect produce along the way. At the end of the tour, we will have a picnic in nature with the products we’ve gathered. Yakir has been hosting and producing culinary events for the past 15 years, but have worked to cultivate my own unique and inventive interpretation of Israeli cuisine from a childhood spent in my mother’s kitchen.
*First stop: -Discovering original Israeli olive oil—At the first kibbutz established in Israel, we will witness the very beginnings of Israeli agriculture and taste no less than 5 different types of olive oils produced in the area. *Second stop: -Sampling organic vegetables—Here we take a short walk while picking fresh vegetables straight from the ground, tasting them and hearing the story of the farm. *Third stop: -Boutique winery—A chance to taste between 5-9 different types of wine (depends on you!) while hearing the history of Israeli wine. *Fourth stop: -Local dairy farm—Tasting a variety of cheeses from a well-renowned and award-winning dairy farmer, surely some of the best cheese Israel has to offer.
-Finally, we will prepare our lunch together in front of the Shipka Farm-to-Table “Farmers” Cooking Workshop (near Lotem Winery), sit down and laugh together and have a great day.
