We had a great time learning to cook with Nariko. The class taught very tasty recipes that we were able to actually reproduce at home with great results. Nariko was also able to teach us some Japanese language and about the wider food culture alongside the class which made the experience even more worthwhile .

Cooking class with Nariko was absolutely amazing and exceeded my expectations in every way! She met us at the station and showed us to her home. It was such a special experience to cook together in a Japanese home. She had everything ready to go so that when we arrived we were able to get straight to cooking! She shared valuable and interesting information about the ingredients like where she purchased them, why she prefers certain brands or styles, and what their purpose is in the flavor of the dish. She explained her methods, demonstrated, and then assigned each of us to a specific task. I think my favorite part was making the gyoza skin. We each had a portion of dough to knead to perfection, and once the filling was ready, I loved creating the dumplings. She often came around the table and corrected us gently so we could learn the traditional methods and make the best possible product. The food was absolutely incredible! It was definitely a process making everything from scratch, but now that I have the recipe, I can actually imagine making this to impress family and friends! After the class, she offered to bring us to the grocery store to show us where to buy all the products we used that day, which I thought was so above and beyond of her. She even pointed out a few of her favorite unrelated items to buy that I never knew about. I really had the most amazing time at Nariko's cooking class and learned so much! I can't recommend this experience enough! I can't wait to come back again soon.

I had an amazing time at Nariko's Kitchen. From the start, she greeted our group at the nearest train station and guided us to the class. The class ran smoothly. Everything was prepped and we jumped right into cooking upon arrival. Nariko was extremely patient, thorough, and knowledgable. She explained each step with great care and led by example with superb technique. By the end of the class, we had successfully made a delicious meal that we were confident in. Nariko was very kind and exceeded my expectations. This was an amazing experience that I'm glad I took part in.

Nariko is a fantastic teacher. There were five of us in the class and she made sure each of us had hands-on experience in cooking everything from scratch. We learned to make a shoyu (soy-sauce base) ramen broth using chicken and other stock that is simple and easy to replicate at home. We also made dumplings from scratch (including the skin) and again, I came home and was able to easily do it again on my own. Nariko creates a friendly and fun environment. We asked questions about buying ingredients at the supermarket, and so Nariko ended up taking us to the local supermarket afterwards and showing us not only ingredients for cooking class, but her favorite snacks as a child! A must do!
