NIÇOISE SALAD

We booked a weekend in Amsterdam with the intention of saying farewell to a local colleague from work. While looking for an intimate dinner venue I found Martine and Olaf's place with warm recommendations and liked it from the first site. I ordered a meal for 8 and asked for a Dutch menu. The dinner was set for Friday evening. In a cold and rainy weather evening we were greeted by Martine and Olaf in their warm and beautiful apartment, overlooking the canal and had a perfect evening there, far beyond our expectations. The food was excellent; the hosts were very friendly, explained each dish and its ingredients, and contributed to our conversations and endless laughter. This evening was voted by the group as the highlight of our visit to Amsterdam. I keep hearing talks around me about this amazing dinner. When you are in Amsterdam, you must try this dining experience, it is highly recommended by us all.

Martine and Olav were lovely people. The food was very good and the ambiance of their canal side apartment was very pleasant. the walking directions to their place were excellent. We took a tram to the station and had less than a 10 minute walk to the house. The other gusts were from Italy and we (American) all enjoyed an international conversation. We would do this again elsewhere and highly recommend Martine and Olav. They used to own a restaurant and are generous with food portions and accompanying libations!
