 I am not a fancy chef or a classically trained baker.  Actually, I’ve spent the better part of two decades working in the government, non- profit & academic sectors.  

I worked with older adults, am a licensed social worker & served in government in my native Ohio where I focused on health policy.  I now am on faculty at American University, am a visiting fellow at London School of Economics and , because I have nothing to do, started my own culinary lifestyle brand, Humble Pie Home + Kitchen. 

I am just a girl who grew up in the Midwest learning how to cook with my Italian-American grandma. I carried my early passion for cooking and baking into adulthood.  When I was in government, I found refuge in my kitchen baking pies as a way to relax.  I would often share my new creations with friends & colleagues.  I even entered my pies into some fairs and festivals along the way.   

I believe food is the one thing we all have in common and that can bring people together as well as serve as a powerful storytelling medium.
