Afternoon Plant-Based Lebanese Cooking Class & Lunch // Greenwich Village 

Cook with a NYC local that grew up Italian and has been cooking Italian food her entire life. Mary is an expert at jarring tomatoes, making fresh pasta and sauces like pesto, marina, Cacio e Pepe and clam sauce. You will learn these new recipes at this Greenwich Village home with lovely skyline views and may be able to dine on the roof. This is a hands-on class, but customizable for those that would prefer to take more notes and enjoy the sit down meal. Most of the ingredients are purchased from the Union Square Farmer's Market where all the best NYC Chefs shop.

Learn how to make authentic fresh pasta sauce from host Mary

Fresh mozzarella, basil, olive oil, tomatoes and good crispy bread. We will sample some olive oils.

DEPENDING ON THE SEASON WE WILL MAKE EITHER TOMATO SAUCE FROM LOCAL TOMATOES AND YOU WILL LEARN JARRING TECHNIQUES TOO OR WE WILL MAKE LINGUINI WITH CLAM SAUCE USING WHOLE FRESH CLAMS IN A SAUCE WITH GARLIC, PARSLEY AND WHITE WINE

I was born and raised in NYC. I love to cook in my Greenwich Village apartment and host those interested in learning how to prepare recipes that utilize the most local and delicious ingredients. I used to cook with students in classrooms, teaching them how to make dumplings, salads, hummus and other seasonal and regional dishes. Cooking brings me great joy - I learned many recipes from Italian mom. Most of our ingredients come from the Union Square Farmer's Market, where all the best NYC chefs shop.
