Try to ask a Venetian to define a cicchetto, you will get many different descriptions. There’s not a unique way to define what cicchetti are. This because there are many varieties of this tasty finger food. You can find for example: polpette – fried meatballs or slices of baguette called crostini, with tasty and delicious toppings… What is sure, is that a cicchetto is always served with a glass of wine or spritz, usually in a bacaro —  a traditional Venetian wine bar.

Ciao! My name is Alessandra. I was born in Padova, near Venice! I love chatting and conviviality, especially around the table and… YES, I am addicted to Italian food, ever since I was a child.

Growing up, cooking was my way to destress, the kitchen was a place where I can connect with myself. Now, I not only use the kitchen to connect to myself but with others too, by hosting suppers. Making people feel good though the food I put my heart into. 

I love the entire process of hosting experiences, from finding the produce, the preparation of the dishes ‘mise en place’, to decorating the tables. All to create memorable moments around the table. 

In 2019 I moved to London to follow my love. I decided to transform my kitchen into my office, setting up my homemade Italian Food Business!

I prepare authentic Italian recipes based on my family traditions from Veneto, Italy. Remember, there’s always an occasion to eat good food and celebrate. I look forward to cooking for you! @theitaliancuppa
