Welcome to De Kaasserie, Amsterdam cheese design studio. Here you will learn about milk coagulation and how to make two types of fresh cheese, first one coagulated with rennet and then one coagulated with acid. You will be able to personalize your cheese, choosing from a palette of over twenty options of herbs, chilis, and colours.  We will finish with a tasting of homemade cheeses. Participants take with them their two pieces of cheese, a cheese cloth and rennet and calcium. They will then receive recipes for both cheeses via email. After the workshop, they can visit the nearby Tenkate Markt, a typical Amsterdam food market and De Hallen, right next to the Kaasserie, it is an old tram terminal turned into a centre of exciting, food, events, and shops. One of Amsterdam's creative hubs.

The basic cheesemaking workshop is a beautiful experience, the discovery of a craft, and an open door into a whole new world of possibilities. The first step to being empowered make, enjoy and create your own cheese at home.

I have been working with cheese making at home for over ten years and I am very passionate about this beautiful craft. My original background is design and I use this to work with a very unique and creative approach to the craft of making cheese. I teach the workshop participants the basics of how to make cheese at home and invite them to explore at home. It's the beginning of a journey in the world of cheesemaking at home.

I love hosting people, it's my other passion. The sessions are not only learning moments but a great social experience. We share conversations throughout the making cheese and eating of cheese. 

I have lived in the Netherlands for 16 years and before lived in France, Chile, USA and Mexico. My mixed background makes me feel very much at home with people from different places while allowing me to host them and talk to them about Amsterdam, my current home.
