Our dinner menu consists of 4 or 7 courses (depending on your wishes, prices vary). As you arrive at our flat you shall be warmly greeted by Sasha & Alex and served an aperitif - a genuine homemade Slovenian brandy. After we get to know each other a little bit more, you will be simultaneously served the first course - homemade cheese from Tolmin with strawberry, caviar and olive oil from Istria. As we stop correcting each-other’s names you will be served homemade veal liver pate and/or dried and salted cod. Light Malvasia is the drink of choice here. If at this point you still won’t feel at home the chef will do a dance for you although you might actually prefer the next course which shall be our speciality (Alex’ own recipe) - octopus carpaccio with kiwi, olive oil and fleur de sel. At this time you will be pleased that the chef’s hands are not shaking anymore. You will be sipping red wine from Slovenian vineyards and enjoying duck breasts with pears and porcini serving as a smooth transition towards more elementary of tastes. The next course shall consist of red meat (T-bone steak or beefsteak…) and intense red wines. We might start correcting each-other’s names again but not too long because the chef has just finished preparing another one of his specialities - hazelnut ice cream with dark chocolate, olive oil and fleur de sel or vanilla ice cream with blueberries flambeed in cognac. As the evening is drawing to a close and you might start wondering how did you end up dancing with the chef we slowly say goodbye to a wonderful evening with a final course of a selection of Slovenian cheeses, cognac and coffee...
Please note, any above mentioned dish can be replaced by: clear sea bass soup, roasted lamb chops, Adriatic shrimps, BigMac … just kidding :) or any other dish you might suggest.
