Recognizing that Nigerian food can many times be intimidating, my goal is to introduce you to it and watch you love it as much as I do. African food is generally under appreciated, given the fact that Africa is a huge melting pot of many world cuisines this surprises me. We are currently going through a food revolution, I realized that many of the popular "health foods" are ingredients I grew up eating and loving. So I've made it a point to make Nigerian food very open and inviting while remaining authentic just like our people. As a Classic Culinary Art student at the International Culinary Center, I started to create menus based on popular Nigerian dishes. This three course menu, is an introduction to the northern part of Nigeria where I'm from. You will leave my table having learnt not only about our food, but also our cultures, traditions and our incredible diversity. I look forward to the privilege of showing you a part of my country through food.
