We like to call our table "The Melting Pot"; because cooking is about sharing dishes from different countries and cultures that reflect our own travel experiences. Nout has lived in two different countries, and Nora in five, and together we have traveled many more! Whether it's an Italian risotto, Belgian fries, South Korean tofu stew, German dumplings or Thai vegetable curry, we want to surprise you with different tastes, smells and textures. We are not exclusively vegetarian but, as you can see from our list, predominantly. Most important for us is the quality, taste and use of fresh, local and seasonal ingredients! If we're not eating, we're talking about food and if we're not talking about food, it's probably 'cause we're eating. Also, anything to do with arts, travels and Monty Pythonesque nonsense conversations about why possums are more prone to marxism than bears is sure to hold our attention as well. We also have a blog where we do old-fashioned restaurant critiques: https://lisbom.org/

What to expect at Nout & Nora's place
We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour of Lisbon with Noat and Nora. They were gracious, knowledgeable and generous with their time. We learned a lot about the culture of the city. Our conversations were interesting and valuable. They introduced us to some excellent places eat and some very interesting people. They spent a lot of time with us also answering our questions about the history, the architecture and the earthquake. Highly recommended experience.
It was a real pleasure to be hosted by Nout and Nora! They are lovely, friendly, and very good at cooking. I enjoyed the three hours and a half (and I wish if I stayed more), and enjoyed their delicious food. We talked about many things in cultures, food, coffee, and vinegar! I highly recommend other guests to VizEat with them!
Nout and Nora are outstanding hosts. They were very warm, welcoming and made me feel special in their home. Conversation was easy and interesting, dinner was outstanding, extremely well thought out and executed. Nout and Nora also shared some special wines with me as well which were delicious. I highly recommend Nout & Nora " the melting pot" it will be a highlight of your trip!
Nout and Nora served us an amazing combination of traditional Portuguese dishes with their own personal twists. Their fish starter introduced us to varieties we had never tired, or even heard of before - a wonderfully range of flavors and textures. The main course featured a perfectly cooked perch accompanied by polenta with a homemade fish stock base - heaven! And Nora's homemade rice pudding - flavored with lime and a bay leaf - was a unique way to end the evening. Did we mention that every course was paired perfectly with a Portuguese wine! . We laughed, we learned, we left with interesting book recommendations as well as great insider tips on where to eat and visit during the rest of our time in Lisbon. We can't imagine a more perfect first Vizeats experience!
