My wife, granddaughter and I had a fantastic time with Marti. Her knowledge of Hungarian foods and their preparation was unbelievable. Preparing the meal was such a fun experience for all three of us. Then to sit down and enjoy the meal with a fine glass of wine or two was absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for teaching us about Hungarian foods, Marti!! I'll be sending you photos soon. Dale, Julia and Kammren.

Marti welcomed us with a big smile and open arms from the moment we entered her private apartment. Off course we started with a glass of Palinka (fruity Hungarian brandy) and Marti told us about the menu, local ingredients and local traditions. This was the beginning of a cosy and joyful evening. First course was a number of bites - sausages, vegetables and homemade bread. Next serving was a cold sour cherry soup. According to Marti this is local tradition, although it reminded me of a dessert, it was well-tasting. For many Hungarian kitchen is equal to paprika, and the main dish wasn't an exception. Juicy chicken in paprika sauce with homemade dumplings. The real desserts were baked pancakes and memorable delicious chocolate cake with walnuts (I had to take two pieces even though I was full). All in all it was an evening to remember with delicious and well-tasting Hungarian dishes spiced with interesting stories about Marti, her family and Hungarian culture and history. I am sure, that other guest also will have a fantastic experience and will remember it for many years as a great souvenir from a journey to Budapest.

Marti is a welcoming host and obviously passionate about Hungarian gastronomy and wine. We thoroughly enjoyed the fabulous meal she cooked, especially the matzoh ball soup :).

This was a very good experience and we really enjoyed hearing about Hungarian food and Marti's upbringing. The food was cerrtainly interesting and the sour cherry soup was particularly enjoyed. All of the home made pickles and preserves were super. Personally we would have preferred our food served on warm plates and the food served warmer than just room temperature but that is personal taste. Marti was a joy as a hostess and a skilled chef and everything was spotlessly clean. We would definitely recommend
