As the new Nordic food wave has risen in the last few years more people than ever before have turned their eyes towards Copenhagen as the gateway to Scandinavia. The food tours are an unique opportunity to experience Copenhagen through its food while listening to stories about its fascinating history. On our guided food and cultural city walking tours you will enjoy deliciously fresh food brought to you in true Scandinavian style, grown in the cold North and sustainable for the planet. Note that although I am the primary guide, there might be other guides leading the tours too. All of us have the same training though, and you are certain to have a great time. :-)

What to expect at Maria's place
We loved this walking food tour of Copenhagen. Our guide, Olivia, was informative about the history of cuisine in Copenhagen and about the history in general, We stopped at three places in the food market - for cheese and crackers and candy, ate Smorebrod at a small neighborhood take-out restaurant, sampled local beers at a craft brewery, ate street food hot dogs, and visited a candy factory that has been operating for over 300 years. In between eating, we walked through many neighborhoods and got to see parts of Copenhagen that we would not have ventured into on our own. And because it was a walking tour, we walked off all the calories! We would definitely recommend this tour for foodies of all ages - but wear your walking shoes!
This was a walking food tour with smørrebrød and Danish polse(hot dogs) as the main foods and samples of cheeses and sweets along the way Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided insights into the history of Copenhagen and the current situation in food as well as in the life of the Danes who live here Do this if you are in Copenhagen but wear good shoes and be prepared for whatever weather is on hand. There is a lot of walking outside to move from one spot to the next. All beautiful in sunny weather but not so easy in rain and fog. I made 17000+ steps on the tour and from my hotel in east Copenhagen and back! Loved it!
