Growing up in China, I looked forward to Chinese New Year Eve, because it was dumpling time. My whole family would get together to make dumplings. There was no TV in the background, just the whole family talking, laughing and making the most delicious dumplings to welcome the New Year. I cherished every minute of it. Now that I am away from home, making dumplings is a way for me to connect with my roots. I want to share this beautiful experience of making and sharing food with more people!

It was a really lovely afternoon. Ally has a beautiful home. Ally talked us through all the ingredients as the fillings were made, explaining why each component was added. And adding some colour from her childhood in Beijing. We then all got hands on trying different dumpling shapes. I came away feeling confident in trying this again - and having the detailed recipes to take home made it so we didn’t have to take notes. Then you get to sit and eat your hard work whilst chatting with the other attendees. It was super fun. Would highly recommend!
