I have lived in France, Canada and Belgium and returned after more than 20 years back to my hometown Vienna. When I was young, I remember my mother writing recipes in my cooking-diary, so that I could carry on the taste of Jewish home cooking everywhere I went. Through the years I have carried on this tradition with my family and friends and would like to share it with you. I love to cook and have guests experience the Jewish taste and love of the culinary history behind the traditional recipes. My cooking style is colorful and honest, it's the comfort food of the old world. The ingredients are unprocessed and if possible regional from the farmers' market. There is a place for experiments, however, my favorites make a repeat appearance. I love citrus fruits and garlic, especially the combination of both! I like to cook with many spices and fresh herbs like Coriander and Dill. I do love oriental flavors, that's why I'm a big Ottolenghi fan, sometimes things might get spicy! I cook Kosher. There are vegetarian and dairy products or a hearty meat dish on the table, but never both at the same time. Food memories haunt me until I recreate them and I long for a good Malabi, a cold dessert based on almond milk and rosewater. (Oriental Streetfood).
