This brunch was like a short trip to the heart of Beirut. Enjoying heartwarming hosts and people, sunny weather and - of course - incredible Lebanese food and Arak made this brunch an exceptional experience. Don't miss this if you haven't tried this cuisine before, and for those of you who have, you will realise how dynamically this deeply rooted food culture can be interpreted, making all the dishes even better. A dash of the give-away Zatar on my pita in the mornings keep reminding me of this wonderful afternoon.
We had an excellent brunch with Ribale and Malik! From welcome drinks in the backyard to a beautiful menu, it was the perfect way to spend a spring afternoon. Ribale has a special way of re-introducing "the classics," and brought each course out with an introduction about how to enjoy it and why she made it the way she did, while Malik brought around arak and managed to get all of the guests into the conversation. The food itself was superb: kebbet addas, msakhan, fattet hommos...you'll have to sign up to find out the rest! Be prepared to fill yourself with food, sip some arak, and have a lovely time with your fellow guests.
