Everybody needs a cool auntie from Budapest and that is exactly who we are. We invite you to sample Hungarian cuisine in its best cosy and casual form. We create traditional meals in our home with a healthier twist, still not for the faint-hearted, complemented by world-famous wines of Tokaj or the Balaton region and the spicy Palinkas made in your imaginary Hungarian grandad's shed. We are childhood friends who met on the first day of school when we shared our books our home made lunch packs. Though life took us to different paths, we share our love for Hungarian food and entertaining in our homes. Vi has a background in hospitality, working for the glitzy and glamorous and the yoga moms of London, which she has traded for the busy lifestyle of a fashion merchandiser. Dori started off as a creative in marketing, followed by a career as a fashion and foodie journalist for ELLE, and now works as a global brand manager for a beauty brand . Our joint passion remains cooking, entertaining and celebrating the beauties of life over the best vino from our small homeland. We live by the basic rules of the warmest Hungarian hospitality: the guest is the king of our house and diet starts tomorrow!

What to expect at The Goulash Girls's place
Virag and Dori were such welcoming hosts. They put on an amazing array of traditional Hungarian cuisine which was delicious, all accompanied with local wines which they had sourced from back home. They were both so knowledgable about the heritage of their food and had plenty of stories to tell which brought the meal to life. We thoroughly enjoyed our first experience of Hungarian food and will certainly be back for more!
