"Inviting a person to dinner is to take care of his happiness during all the time it passes under your roof.” We are Janice and Francesca, two sisters passionate about cooking and social-eating. Our grandmother Marcella, who has managed a restaurant in Trastevere for many years, has given us a passion for cooking. We are a big family and our home has always been full of friends and relatives. Our fabulous mother, Angela, taught us the art of welcoming people and making them feel at home. So it's something that comes naturally to us. This is how we move from virtual knowledge to a real friendship, the magic is given by a particular alchemy that makes us seem to know each other forever! Seeing is believing :-)! We are in a residence located in northern Rome, the most exclusive area of Rome, far from the purely tourist area, where you will rarely find Roman families. Thus you can see the normal and non-touristic way in which a typical Roman family lives.

What to expect at Janice & Francesca's place
Francesca prepared a delicious 5. (Or 6, maybe) course meal that was traditional Italian and perfect for the evening. We started with antipasti and Prosecco while getting to know each other’s names, as we were 9 and there were approximately the same number of family and friends. An Amatriciano and gnocchi courses followed, each cooked perfectly, of course. We had two different polpettone, spiced beautifully and with a nice texture and mouthfeel. Traditional tiramisu, to die for, closed the meal perfectly. The evening was a great pleasure. Many of my party were introverts, so the start was a bit awkward as they loosened up. The language barrier wasn’t too high, as my wife and I have some Italian and Janice and Francesca have a good amount of English. Their home is outside of Rome, so it was interesting to see a new place and they graciously drove us home after the dinner. Above my expectations, surely. We played games and drank delicious wine and digestivi. A good time was had by all
