With 20 years under his apron, Geoffrey Reed owes much of his culinary awareness to the ocean and mountains that surrounded him as a native of McKinleyville, California. It began early on in his parent’s garden, fishing in the creek behind the house and having full reign to play in the kitchen. Geoff got his first taste of the culinary life at 12, helping with chocolate dipped strawberries and washing dishes on Valentine’s Day at a restaurant where his older brother worked. That adventure turned into a career of working his way through every position in the kitchen.
Now in San Francisco, Geoff has worked numerous restaurant openings including Pläj with Executive Chef Roberth Sundell, rated among the top 100 restaurants in the Bay Area by SF Chronicle. He founded FishInKitchen, his own workshop classes where he brings people out on fishing trips and teaches how to clean and cook their own catches. Now with Eatwith, he hosts his own series of omakase pop-ups which feature his one-of-a-kind recipes from the fresh seafood he catches and local foraged ingredients in the Bay Area.
i would not recommend any of my friend to go. The food and the chef were both good but not great. The main reason is food is already cold when they are offered to you. There is only one chef and he is serving over 30 people in the meantime. When he finishes work on the 30th dish, the 1st one is already cold totally. Also They don't have a formal kitchen so the cooking was restricted there. I just gave one star to environment because we sat in a weird factory and it was socold and frozen there during nighttime. A pair of weird sandals is offered and you need to exchange shoes (i am doubting whether they do cleaning for those sandals or not). Space is nothing in that place and you would share every word with guys seating next to you. Chairs and tables are randomly assigned. I regret a lot to pay 120 dollars for this dinner. you could find a definitely better place with equivalent expense.

this was an amazing experience. Jeff is awesome, explained all the courses as they came out. spoke personally to a lot of us and made our friend's birthday a very special occasion. I can't wait to come back. thanks Jeff!!!!

Amazing variations on fish, with a Japanese twist. Truly excellent meal.
Sake was fair but not mind blowing.

Absolutely wonderful meal! Each course was innovative, beautiful & delicious. Geoff is amazing to watch work, and the event is a great evening out. Highly recommended!!!
