Growing up in London, to a family of Mauritian immigrants, I always enjoyed the mix of cultures I came across, each with their own food and drinks that brought out smell and tastes, worlds which I knew I wanted to know more about. I knew my passion revolved around hospitality and how well crafted food and drink could make anyone feel welcome. I believe that food connects people, hence the reason I joined Eat with! I want to introduce discerning foodies to Mauritian inspired cuisine. I host with my husband and Mixologist Yusef in our cozy Brooklyn apartment. From the moment you arrive, we want you to feel welcome, relaxed, and ready for your taste buds to be tantalized. Cooking is my love -Spice is my Vice The menu is Mauritian Inspired. Mauritius is a beautiful tiny island off the east coast of South Africa, seven hundred miles from Madagascar. With beautiful sunshine and sunsets to die for, the local food is a melting pot of ethnicities. The cuisine is a blend of French, Indian, Chinese and Creole, So instead of our guests having to make the 20-hour journey to Mauritius, I am bringing a taste of the Indian Ocean to South Brooklyn. Our food is suitable for vegan, vegetarian and meat and fish eaters. We also serve an assortment of condiments so you can turn the heat up or down and customize it to your preference. From Mango pickles, pickled chilli’s, chili paste, garlic sauce, raita (yogurt and cucumber dip)

What to expect at Nandini's place
This was my first encounter with Mauritian cuisine and I hope to have more in the future! Nandini and her family are warm and welcoming hosts and the food was delicious! The combination of distinct flavors and context from Nandini's personal relationship to the food made for an amazing meal.
Excellent meal. Our names were writte on eggplants to mark our seating, which was a joy inspiring touch and a great conversation starter. There was more food than we could possibly eat, and it was all delicious. The host was knowledgeable and shared curious details about different aspects of the food and the condiments. The homemade paratha really clinched the deal.
