Christina is a professional chef, cookbook author, and journalist based in Los Angeles, California. Her company, Sweet Greek Personal Chef Services, tantalizes palates throughout the city with full culinary services, cooking classes, and Greek-themed pop-up dining experiences, which have been featured in Food & Wine magazine among many others. Christina recently co-authored Opa! The Healthy Greek Cookbook: Modern Mediterranean Recipes for Living the Good Life (Rockridge Press, Nov. 2017), a collection of 90 dynamic Greek recipes, which offer a creative new voice in the cannon of Greek cooking. Xenos is Greek-American, having family roots in Crete and Milos. Her culinary career began at an early age baking Greek delicacies for Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Dayton, Ohio for its annual festival. She honed her chef skills in professional cooking and baking at the New School of Cooking in Los Angeles and often returns to Greece — especially her family’s home on the south coast of Crete — to indulge in the local offerings. She has also worked as a travel correspondent for Forbes Travel Guide and as the online editor for Where Magazine/SoCalPulse.com in Southern California for over a decade, documenting the thriving restaurant scene in and around Los Angeles. She continues to write for their suite of publications and also pens freelance food and travel pieces for a number of other publications.
