Recently accepted into a Culinary Leadership program with The James Beard Foundation, I will be spending the next 6-8 months cooking with some amazing chefs across the US! I look forward to bringing you some new creations and hosting you in my home. My passion for cooking started in my mom's kitchen. The sights, aromas and textures all enticed me to learn the secret of food in the most ancient of countries, India. I moved to New York to obtain a double Masters degree in Psychology and Business. My path was set for me: a steady job in the corporate world, doing the daily grind to hopefully one day earn that corner office! My love for cooking was put on a back burner, simmering until the time was right. However, my passion to create magic in the kitchen never waned. I continued cooking for my friends, hosting elaborate dinner parties and creating unique fusion food, combining self taught classical French techniques with the the unlimited combinations of spices I grew up eating. Finally, armed with a wealth of practical training, I took the leap into the exciting world of flavors, creating custom dishes and flavors for private clients. My personal style blends my Indian roots with inspirations from my travels, to create little bites of flavor explosion in your mouth - a modern Indian inspired meal! My clients have hired me to create elaborate Tasting Menus, consisting of 7-10 courses of unique Amuse Bouches. On the flip side, I have also been hired by Creative Studios and other Corporate clients, to develop VIP seated dinners, collaborated with restaurants and bars to run "One Night only Restaurants," as well as hosted secret social dining experiences in the Tri-State area.
What to expect at Jasmine's place
Had a really fun time at Jasmine's pop up dinner! The food was very innovative and refreshing, the main course and dessert were outstanding! The Harlem rooftop was a great location, the weather was great and everyone had a good time drinking and eating, thanks Jasmine!
Had a blast at Jasmine's awesome rooftop dinner! The food was delicious, in particular I loved the Bhel, being exposed to Indian food, I never dreamed this could be a version of it! Jasmine was warm and inviting, the courses were served at timely intervals, and the other guests were friendly, overall a great time!
