James Beard Foundation Grant Winner for Women in Culinary Leadership, Jasmine is a HR Executive turned Chef. Currently, based in Chicago, Jasmine is a Private Chef hosting Indian-Inspired PopUp & Home Dining Experiences, Supper clubs & Private Events. Served on a Thaali (a large platter of food), Jasmine hosts a rotating-menu Supper Club at her lake-front Loft. This is a dining experience that highlights regional Indian cuisines through a multi-course pre-fixe seasonal menu, served as a set communal-style dinner of regional Indian dishes. Each month, a different regional cuisine is introduced to diners and for a few luxurious hours, guests enjoy a glimpse into the vibrant world of India through Jasmine's expression of her culinary heritage as well as an exploration of fond memories and family traditions. Food is always served in generous helpings and seconds are highly encouraged! Reserve a seat at this communal table and bring your appetite and a food story to share! Not pigeon holing herself to Indian Cuisine, Jasmine also consults on recipe development across cuisines, menu creation, restaurant operations and has created enhanced, one-of-a-kind experiences for clients such as OXO, Airbnb, OTO float and Splacer, to name a few. She is a fierce advocate of the LGBT Community and the Chapter Lead of a monthly community event called Queer Soup Night. Each event raises money for a community organization, highlights the talent of queer chefs, and nourishes the community and its allies by gathering in an atmosphere of authentic inclusiveness. You can see Jasmine's beautiful creations on her instagram @the_amusebouche and reserve a spot for an elaborate dining experience, here. Passionate about Hospitality and sparking social change through food, Jasmine started cooking in her mother's kitchen. The sights, aromas and textures all enticed her to learn the secret of food in the most ancient of countries, India. She moved to New York to obtain a double Masters degree in Psychology and Business, her path was set: a steady job in the corporate world, doing the daily grind to hopefully one day earn that corner office! However, the passion to create magic in the kitchen and building community through the common love of food and hospitality is what she was passionate about.
What to expect at Jasmine's place
Had a blast at Jasmine's awesome rooftop dinner! The food was delicious, in particular I loved the Bhel, being exposed to Indian food, I never dreamed this could be a version of it! Jasmine was warm and inviting, the courses were served at timely intervals, and the other guests were friendly, overall a great time!
