I am a psychotherapist from Zadar. Also, I'm a free diver and a passionate cook. And a passionate photographer of my meals. *You can see them here:
In my kitchen there is always some home made bacon, some eggs that I get from my cousins from Zadar county, figs from my aunt's garden, home made olive oil I get from the nearby island families. And there's of course my own made bred :) And on my window there are jars and bottles of home made liquors - lemon, cherry and maraska (a native sort of cherry that grows best on Dalmatian soil) that are ready to be made under the temperature of sun... Some sage, basil, rosemary and other local spice herbs that I grow.
For other things - the Adriatic sea is 200m away from my place :) I love my country, every part of it, the people and the local Mediterranean cuisine that has so many historical influences. Once combined, they make a wonderful melting pot of delicacy, tastefulness and... well you should come and see. The door of my cuisine are always open.
This went above and beyond all expectations. Irena was not only a fabulous, talkative host, but her apartment was beautiful and the food was out of this world. It was exactly what we were looking for: a traditional meal you could only find in the household, but she even handmade everything! She makes her own grappa, cheese, wine, crackers - everything! It was a masterful organic handmade meal with delicious beverages - we could have stayed all night. Highly recommended, and even a #1 reason to stop in Zadar.

Irenas enthusiasm for food was evident in her menu and throughout the event. All parts bore her mark, lovingly made and selectively gathered. Local, stretching to former Yugoslavia and perhaps a bit further, foods well balanced and introduced. The company was great. We had a good time.
