I booked this supper club that was advertised as Modern Seasonal Fine Dining with Pro Chef Guillaume. Enjoy a welcoming cocktail on arriving, followed by fine a dining tasting menu and some little surprises along the way. I was shocked to say the least at how terrible this entire experience was! The café is so bright and looks exactly that a daytime café, with tables for 2 dotted around! When the supper club menu arrived on our table it had £50 pp and I paid £60 pp as a surprise gift for my boy friend having just come out of lockdown and wanting to eat wonderful food with like-minded people in a fantastic setting. We had complementary maceral bites on arrival, and they were fat too salty and the bread roles was something you would buy from Tesco, so stale and just unappealing. There was no atmosphere at all in this location and the music ‘singing in the rain’ it was just weird and awkward.
When I asked the waitress about the Chef – She said that he had 12 years’ experience, bigged him up so much then followed with he is on leave now on paternity leave! That is false advertising to say the least! We ordered a bottle of wine and the waitress asked if we wanted to share a cheese platter or wanted one each. We are not cheese eaters and ordered 1 to share (as we were under the impression that it was part of this supper club!) – 2 cheese platters came out (which we barely touched) and then to have that added to the bill as apparently the cheese was not part of the 120 pounds!! This was literally just throwing money away!
When I asked for clarification for the £50 on the menu and360 online, the waitress said that £10 pounds per person was a booking fee for eatwith.com – £20 pounds from what I paid on the website was a booking fee? Surely that CAN NOT be right! Grand total of the 4/10 food, cheese platters and wine was £180 pounds! This is ludicrous, absolutely mugged off! So embarrassing! I paid £170 for an exceptional evening at Perilla £170 and an amazing meal with booze at The Eagle only the best place in town and we were stuffed for £76 pounds.
There is no excuse for good quality food, produce and atmosphere when you live in London. Will not be going back or booking through eatwith.com - far better places to choose from.
