The location is a gem! We had our dinner in Books for Cooks, a bookstore dedicated to all things food! As I learned that night, only a handful of such bookstores exist in the world and even fewer have a functioning kitchen that serves food! It was treat to eat between the walls lined with shelves upon shelves of gastronomy-inspired book titles! The menu is playfully handwritten with markers and highlighters. Long tables for 18 persons fill the bookstore space. Namecards welcome you to your seats. The dinner we had that night was scrumptious and certainly a fantastic deal for the ambience and unique experience of a supper club. We started with a warm half of plum filled with soft goat cheese, all sitting on a bed of succulent greens and walnuts. The next course was a sweet potato gnocchi with bits of salted pork, all in fragrantly tossed in sage butter. The entree was a hit with melt-in-your mouth crispy pork skin (disappears like candy floss after the first umami-packed crunches!), tender flavor-packed pork shoulder. alongside celeriac mash, and gently grilled courgette. To further pack in the punch for the evening, the decadent white chocolate apple cheesecake was served deconstructed as a "ice cream" scoop sitting atop an unpacked bed of pistachio and date crumbs, all drizzled with berry coulis. And to end the service on a savory note, a playful serving of one soft and one hard cheese with black crackers. The quality and freshness of the ingredients all speak for themselves once introduced to your palate. The unique environment, Loulou's culinary prowess and company of like-minded foodies made this a most memorable evening of gastronomy for us!

What an amazing night. Such a gorgeous venue, surrounded by beautiful cookery books in a cool space. The food was sensational. Delicately cooked and filled with fantastic flavours, and constrasting textures that both melted in the mouth and had a crunch to them. And the company was sensational. I came alone, which is always a little nerve-wracking, but met such amazing, fascinating, diverse people that by the end I couldn't bear to leave! Incredible night and I can't wait to go back

Absolutely brilliant dinner! Seasonal, inventive dishes such sweet potato gnocchi and a mind-blowingly good 'deconstructed' white chocolate cheesecake left us wanting to come back very soon! Thank you for this lovely meal.

The food was delicious. Every course was beautiful with a couple of stand out courses that I'll be day dreaming about for a while! And a lovely laid back atmosphere in the perfect setting - a cook book shop. Exactly what I hoped for my first grub club experience and more.
