What hosts are saying about Emily
The aperitif, the starter and the dessert were the highlights. The main course took too long to arrive. The other highlights included the location: Views of the Thames were stunning. And the link to Shakespeare himself, with performers providing amusing in-between courses interludes. Recommended for those who want to learn a bit more about the Bard!
A really good evening, my first Grub Club and I'll definitely come again. Thought we might feel de trop given that we are twice the age of many there, but not a bit of it, everyone was really friendly. Food was superb, we eat out a lot in London at some very high end establishments and the Swan team definitely held their own. Great to have the chef talk about where the ingredients came from. Who knew there were so many niche producers actually in London. The Shakespearean interludes were great fun. Wonderful image of Shakespeare nicking a whole theatre overnight! I hadn't heard that one before. All in all a great experience, if noisy!! Hence only 4 stars overall. Obviously I need to improve my lip-reading skills.
This was a great evening. The food was wonderful and the ambience great - if - for me - a little noisy. The Bits from Shakespeare (and Bernard Levin) really added to the experience, and Dave the chef's enthusiasm for his food and the care he obviously took was a joy and a revelation.
