The headline "Best vegan Spanish tapas" is 100% correct! Words cannot describe how much we enjoyed our dinner with Berenice and Javier as our hosts. First of all, they are super friendly and nice people who gave us a warm welcome and we immediately felt home. About the food - In one word - WOW!!! If you are looking for an authentic vegan Spanish tapas meal, this is as good as it gets! They also offers a big variety of drinks for you to choose from. And let me tell you this - get ready to eat a lot, because they were bringing a new plate to the table like every 5 minutes. In overall, me and my husband had an amazing night and we definitely recommend this experience!
Our incredible meal with Berenice and Javier was a highlight of our trip to Spain with our three children. The food, artistry and conversation were simply blew us away. There were so many courses of high-quality vegan tapas cuisine, and enjoyed hearing about their processes in cooking these dishes, some of which took days. If you visit Madrid (or if you live here), you cannot miss the opportunity to meet Bere y Javi! They are designer+photographer duo in an adorable apartment in the charming neighborhood of Hispanoamerica/Chamartín. I lost track of how many courses there were (12??) -- every plate was a work of art, both in presentation and in flavor. (Black aioli and mushroom "chorizo" -- to name just two.) All of the ingredients were sourced from their local farmers market. The wine and sangria were flowing and the two of them had us laughing ourselves silly with stories of Madrid life. I cannot recommend the experience enough. I hope to go back soon!
