I was raised in a family where a home cooked meal was a 6 day a week practice. The women in my family were all amazing home cooks and my earliest memories of food starts with them...hence the name PizzElla (named after my mother Elvira or "Ella" as she is called by her close ones). I have cooked in restaurants all over the country in some of the biggest food markets including Los Angeles and New Orleans under the tutelage of the most classically trained and endlessly talented chefs. What I love most about cooking, is seeing the instant gratification of those who I get to feed. Sharing personal stories about the dishes I serve, and finding common ground at the dinner table.
