Dinner At The Gates Of Chianti

During this course, you will be able to prepare with us some of the most traditional dishes of our region, Siena, a town set in the heart of Tuscany. Those are the dishes that my mom - and before my grandparents - used to cook for the family on holiday days.

Cauliflower flan
Castagnaccio (typical Tuscan dessert made with chestnut flour, pine nuts, raisins, and rosemary)

At the end of the class, we will taste all the meals, accompanied by a good Chianti wine

Durante questo corso potrete preparare con me alcuni dei piatti più tradizionali della mia terra, Siena, città sita nel cuore della Toscana, piatti che la mia mamma-  e prima ancora le mie nonne - cucinavano per la famiglia nei giorni di festa:
Tagliatelle fatte in casa con sugo di coniglio
Pollo alla cacciatora
Sformato di cavolfiore
Castagnaccio (dolce tipico toscano fatto con farina di Castagne, pinoli, uvetta e rosmarino)
Alla fine del corso, assaggeremo tutti insieme le pietanze cucinate, accompagnate da buon vino Chianti

Hi! We are Michela and Mauro, 40 and 43 years old. We decided to open up to this new experience as lovers of direct contact with others, hospitality in general and cooking in particular. We live in a small village about 6 km from the center of Siena (Quercegrossa), very easy to reach, immersed in Chianti and surrounded by olive groves and vineyards.
Our house is a semi-detached house, on three floors, with convenient access from both the independent garden and the common courtyard. We love her very much and we have personally looked after the refurbishment, furnishing and decoration, both of them passionate about this area and I, in particular, decorator of French style furniture and environments (my second job and great passion!).
My husband Mauro has a restaurant bar near the city center, ready to welcome you and "pamper you" with joy and professionalism even in the cozy and convivial environment of our home!
For some years we have been part of the "Home Exchange" circuit and we have loved the great cultural and human exchange that this experience has reserved for us. That is why we are delighted to experience this welcome experience!
Italian and Tuscan cuisine, in particular, witnessing our roots and always cooked with passion by our grandmothers and moms, allows us to offer you traditional and timeless dishes for gourmets. But we love to experience and delight in the preparation of dishes of other cultures as well as in the preparation of refined and elegant meals, always accompanied by mises en place curate and themed, because we believe that the beauty and care of the details is the necessary framework for a meal of excellence.
From here, you can choose, besides the various possibilities offered by our menus, also the "Dinner Intimate" option as the environment where we welcome you for the meal is intimate and separate to the rest of the house for you to enjoy the tranquility of evening and dinner.
Alternatively, we will be happy to share dinner (or lunch) with you and enjoy your company!

Salve! Siamo Michela e Mauro, 41  e 44 anni. Abbiamo deciso di aprirci a questa nuova esperienza in quanto amanti del contatto diretto con gli altri, dell'ospitalità in genere e della cucina in particolare. Abitiamo in un piccolo paese a circa 6 km dal centro di Siena (Quercegrossa), facilissimo da raggiungere, immerso nel Chianti e circondato da oliveti e vigneti.
La nostra è una casa semi indipendente, su tre piani, dotata di comodo accesso sia dal giardinetto indipendente, sia dal resede comune. La amiamo molto e ne abbiamo personalmente curato la ristrutturazione, arredamento e decorazione, essendo entrambi  appassionati di questo ambito ed io, in particolare, decoratrice di mobili in stile francese, ed ambienti (mio secondo lavoro e grande passione!). 
Mio marito Mauro è titolare di un bar ristorante sito vicino al centro della città, pronto quindi a ricevervi e "coccolarvi" con allegria e professionalità anche nell'ambiente intimo e conviviale della nostra casa!
Per alcuni anni abbiamo fatto parte del circuito di "Scambio Casa" ed abbiamo amato tantissimo lo scambio culturale ed umano che questa esperienza ci ha riservato. Per questo siamo felicissimi di vivere questa esperienza di accoglienza!
La cucina italiana e toscana, in particolare,  testimone delle nostre radici e cucinata da sempre con passione dalle  nostre nonne e mamme, ci permette di offrirvi piatti della tradizione ed intramontabili per i buongustai. Ma noi amiamo sperimentare e dilettarci anche nella preparazione di piatti di altre culture così come nella preparazione di pasti raffinati ed eleganti, sempre accompagnati da mises en place curate  ed a tema, perchè riteniamo che la bellezza e la cura dei dettagli sia la necessaria cornice ad un pasto d'eccellenza.
Da noi potrete scegliere, oltre alle varie possibilità offerte dai nostri menù, anche l'opzione "Cena Intima" in quanto l'ambiente in cui vi accoglieremo per il pasto è intimo e separato al resto della casa per cui potrete godere in tutta tranquillità della serata e della cena.
In alternativa, saremo felici di condividere con voi  la  cena (o il pranzo) e godere della vostra compagnia !
